We need you and your church to pray for the people of
Georgia. We are in a political crisis. It started last Friday.
Over 100,00 people representing an opinion group to the president began a
rally. It was a peaceful rally. Speeches were made, songs song
etc. They asked to be heard and speak with the President. They
wanted the election date to be moved up from next November to this coming
April. They voiced the need for a new president and by Monday they were
accusing him of leading a corrupt government. The president said no to all
their
demands.
Monday they began a hunger strike. Wednesday the
crowd increased ins size, but were still peaceful. All of a sudden police
armies, tanks with water guns and tear gas fell upon the helpless crowd.
People were beaten with clubs and hundreds are in the hospital. The crowd
moved to another location to receive the exact same treatment. 32 were
arrested. The government has declared a "State of Emergency". All
communications are down. All TV stations are closed except one run by the
government. All transportation is shut down. Tanks and armed
soldiers are everywhere. The government is stating that they stopped a
coup from happening and that is why they did what they
did.
We missionaries are together and safe. We are
housebound. We pray getting food does not become a serious problem
We have 5 evacuation plans and feel we could use one if we have to. We are
on red alert from the American Embassy. The next 15 days are going to be
very difficult. Please pray for the people who are hurting so bad.
They don't know who or what to believe. They are afraid. Rumors are
that the five leaders of that opposition group are Russian spies. So just
pray please for our safety and for the precious people. Pray for a
peaceful solution. I pray this gets out. Listen to CNN and get on
the Web for updates. I love you and will try to keep in
touch.

| lets see whats new.... um school is trying to do everything it can to kick my butt... out side of that i have been sick and have a lot of work to do this weekend.
so on to the happier things... loan money has come in... food sweet !!! Sean got a projector surround sound and a wii... really not much help with the studying but there a lot of fun :-;p
